I’ve always loved taking
pictures. Towards the end of completing my Bachelor of Science
degree at Miami University in Ohio, I decided that I should
buy a new camera, take more pictures and most importantly,
learn all I could about the art. After graduation, I made
my way to San Francisco. I vividly remember walking out of
my first interview with an investment bank, and gazing up
and down the sloping streets of that dramatic city. I decided
right then that I wanted to pursue photography as my career
(definitely not investment banking) and a few days
later signed up for classes at the Academy of Art. I spent
the next several years polishing techniques learned from assisting
several top area photographers. The rest is history.
My six-year stint in the Bay Area
ended as I again packed up the U-haul and set out towards
the Rocky Mountains, where I was to reencounter the four seasons.
Being in a place of such beauty has inspired me in new ways.
Although I’ve really enjoyed shooting more landscape
photography, my fascination continues to be the human race.
What I enjoy so much of Teton Valley is the relationships
made within the community. As the valley grows and develops
at a staggering rate, it is my hope that we don’t lose
these personal connections that struck me as so different
from the big city.
In July of 2006, I became a mother
for the first time. This new experience has filled me with
more joy than I ever could have imagined. Let’s just
say I’ve found a new muse.
