Aglae had been checking the weather forecast days (weeks?) before her wedding. And so had I. It was not looking like June 20, 2009 was going to be a sunny one. The day arrived with a heavy layer of clouds and rain showers constantly passing through. She said she had made peace with the rain, and had such a great attitude as did the rest of her family and her groom.
The rain did not stop this wedding from being one of the most fun, festive weddings I’ve had the pleasure to shoot. Although the wedding party had to proceed through a downpour to the tent (the default ceremony location), the skies dried up immediately afterwards so we had the good fortune to be able to shoot the portraits outside in some beautiful light. Sadly, we never saw the Tetons that day, but I know the positive, glowing attitudes that Aglae and Andy had on their wedding day is a sure sign that their marriage is going to be able to weather anything.
This couples lives in San Francisco and they had so many family and friends make the journey for their wedding from all over including a handful from Spain, where Aglae’s parents are from. The pale yellow color theme was a bright spot on a rather gray day. The flowers by MD Nursery were gorgeous. The ice cream bar in lieu of a cake (although a surprise Oreo cake was delivered anyway) was a fantastic idea, and no one held back their dance moves as the night drew on.
Aglae and Andy are two of the warmest people I’ve met. It was an honor to photograph their wedding. In her toast, the maid of honor mentioned Aglae’s amazing warm hugs that you should experience once if you haven’t. As I was leaving, she gave me one of those infamous hugs and her smile sealed it for me that she is one of the happiest brides I’ve ever seen.
