Lauryn’s maternity portion of her belly series came to a close Monday, when their baby BOY decided to arrive a few weeks early. Mom and baby are well, and I got to visit them at the hospital yesterday and meet little Madden Kane. I’m so incredibly happy for them.
Selfishly, I’m a little sad it’s over. When we started this project, I was not pregnant, and to be quite honest, I was not planning on getting pregnant. But when I learned of this wonderful surprise, Lauryn was one of the first to know. She became not only a “client”, but quite a good friend and support at a time of uncertainty for me. Her enthusiasm for her baby and her entire experience really enriched my pregnancy. I had someone to chat with on a weekly basis about all the changes we were going through. Photo shoots turned into coffee dates, and I have gained a true friend throughout. She’s a strong, beautiful person and mother, and I’ve been so blessed to get to know her so well….another gift from the “job” that just keeps giving back to me.
I must admit that my end seems far away…another full trimester to go…and I’m a little jealous she’s on the other side now. But I’ll keep pushing on, working my butt off, and looking forward to a few months of rest at some point before the craziness begins again. Of course, next week, I get the honor of photographing this precious little boy so stay tuned for some photos of Madden in all his splendor! Thank you for following along on her/our journey together.
