To all the fellow mothers out there.
To the moms celebrating their very first Mother’s Day.
To the grandmas celebrating their 50th Mother’s Day.
To all the mamas whose babies still rest below their hearts waiting till it’s time to come out and join the world.
Happy day to you because what happens to be the hardest job in the world is also the most important one.
And it’s so messy, isn’t it?
Deep down we know we are heroes but most days don’t feel that way.
So many days end with this feeling like we should’ve done more, yelled less, been a little more creative…
But we love so fully that that stuff isn’t what we should focus on.
One scrapped knee and we know they are ours. They come to us. They rest their heads on our shoulders. Our hugs change everything. Our kisses heal wounds.
Are we really worthy of doing this job? Do we truly have any qualifications that makes us good at this? Nope. Not really.
No training, no manual, no clue most days if we are doing it right.
But I know that I couldn’t live a day without those 3 boys. And I know you feel the same.
So let our love be enough. Give ourselves a break. Take our shoes off; leave the dishes; take a deep breath; let them help us today. And just enjoy.
Happy Mother’s Day
